From Milan Fashion Week to Your Home

As Milan Fashion Week comes to a close, we've rounded up some of the best looks that can be adapted from runway to home. This year, the shows in Milan were full of contrasts- lots of vibrant and rich hues, but also a fair bit of white-on-white. There was super modern color blocking, but also retro 70s-inspired fringe. And finally, we saw colorful and wild prints, but also subdued and toned-down florals.

Below, a deep purple Costume National maxi dress wows with its shockingly vibrant hue.

For the home, the Leigh pillow by Missoni home from IL Decor, in an almost identical vibrant deep purple color. A throw pillow like this will bring dramatic depth to a space.

A rich, velour Gucci coat paired with leather accents brings depth of color and texture.

Likewise, the Siena Lamp with pewter base and silk shade from Didriks below combines colors and textures, and the vibrant hue adds a dynamic touch to the room.

If color isn't your thing, crisp white is, as always, on trend. The Aigner dress below uses different textures to add a level of complexity to the one-toned dress.

Similarly, in the interior below by Susan Reddick Design, white is used all over the room for a light, clean feel.

In the home, this can be achieved, as shown in the Now Interior Design photo below, by choosing different colors for the different elements of a space. The pillows, couch, and coffee table each have their own unique hue.

IL Decor does the same with their white leather fringe armchair. A cool and unexpected way to bring retro-chic to the home.

Roche Bobois achieve a similar look with their Mah Jong sofa, which uses tons of colors and swirls them together into a cohesive but captivating pattern.

Finally, we also saw florals in neutral tones and sheer materials, as in the Alberta Ferretti dress below.

To bring this look into your home, think about investing in a beautiful painting, like the piece by Elise Morris below, from Jules Place Gallery.
