New Luxury High-Rise to Join Boston's Skyline

The Boston skyline is about the change again - the Millennium Tower Boston, which will be Boston's tallest residential building yet, is due to be completed in 2016.

A $37.5 million penthouse will sit on the 60th floor, with sweeping views of Boston Common and the Charles River. There has never been such a view of the city before, and developers sent a drone up 625 feet to take photos to show potential buyers.

Designed by Handel Architects, the new tower will house 442 condominiums, and they will be the most expensive in the state. Prices for the condos - a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, range from $850,000 to the $37.5 million penthouse.

Millennium Tower, which is being built by Millennium Partners, is the first luxury residential building of its kind to take root in Boston. Debra Blair, president of LINK Real Estate, asserts that "This is a building that could be in Dubai or Shanghai or Manhattan, and completely hold its own.”

Residents of the Tower will get access to premium luxury amenities like a Flex One Fitness personal training program, message therapists, nutritionalists, yoga classes, and a private bar and restaurant offering creations by award-winning chef Michael Mina.

Richard Baumert, an executive of Millennium Partners, says that the Tower "has three pillars - mind, body, and nutrition."

Millennium Tower will be a new "center of gravity" for Boston  - it will contain more condos than any other building in the city, and will sell for $2,900 per square foot, higher than the city's peak price in the past.

According to Baumert, units are already selling, and fast. The luxury building couldn't come at a better time, as Boston is seeing a huge influx of wealthy international buyers, and available real estate in the city is currently at an all-time low.

Boston is transforming, and Millennium Tower is at the forefront.
