This year, Trefler's, Boston's best resource for all restoration needs, is excited to be a Sponsor of the 2014 Ellis Boston Antiques Show from October 23-26 at the Cyclorama Center in Boston.
This year marks the 4th Annual Ellis Boston Antiques Show. Ellis Boston will showcase 40 top-notch exhibitors from the United States and Europe. Pieces include antiques, jewelry, fine art, 20th century design, tribal art, antiquities, and much more.
By participating in the show, Trefler's hopes to educate people on the importance of preserving and restoring items and collectibles that are valuable to them.
During the show, Trefler's will offer two on-site presentations. On Friday, they will present "Restoring and Caring for Your Favorite Things." On Saturday, their demonstration "The Art of Art Restoration" will feature Trefler's own Janet Moran. Moran is the head painting conservator and is a graduate of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts.
Trefler's was founded in 1921, and their mix of century-old techniques with modern restoration technology enable them to execute some of the best and most highly skilled repairs in the world. Trefler's restoration experts apply their skills to everything from antiques to fine art to customers' sentimental objects.
"We are ready to take on any level of restoration or repair," comments David Manzi, President of Trefler's. "We will even repair your favorite coffee mug!"
Trefler's was founded in Germany, where Abraham Trefler started a small business building and restoring furniture. Abraham's son Eric was one of the few survivors of the camps in Poland and Germany during World War II, and after Liberation, he left for America. He finally settled in Boston, where he began working as a furniture restorer for antique dealers on Beacon Street. He eventually opened his own business, and using the skills he learned from his father, quickly became recognized for his ability to restore almost any kind of object.
