Trending: Grasscloth Walls

Grasscloth wallpaper is a timeless trend. Incorporating texture and warmth to bare walls and high ceilings may be just what you need to take your home to the next level.

Interior designer Anthony Catalfano uses grasscloth to adorn the walls of his renovated summer home in Kennebuck, Maine. Adding the warm beige texture to the high ceilings of this staircase space prevents the space from looking too stark and bare.

In the space pictured below, Anthony Catalfano uses grasscloth as a way to integrate many different colors and textures into a single space. We see beiges and blues, and wicker and wood all combined seamlessly, thanks to the basis of color and texture provided by the wallcoverings.

Pulling a room together by the consistency of wallpapering brings a room together while setting the tone. It's the perfect touch on this traditional formal dining area pictured below.

Grasscloth is also the perfect way to decorate a small space, as seen in the Catalano Architects bathroom and vanity space below.

Grasscloth works beautifully in darker shades as well. In the contemporary bathroom below, a deep green grasscloth wallpaper gives the space dramatic color and texture without overwhelming the space.

Likewise, in the Battle Associates Architects bathroom below, a rich brown grasscloth blends the wall seamlessly with the dark wood countertop and stone sink basin.

Grasscloth is a versatile trend that can be brought to almost any room in the home. It allows for a finished look that isn't too formal and stuffy, and will bring an interesting color and texture dynamic to any space. Where would you use the grasscloth trend in your home?
