Art Basel began in 1970 in Basel, Switzerland, and since then has exploded into a premier international modern and contemporary art show. The Miami Beach show, held in what Art Basel has dubbed "the nexus of North America and Latin America," hosted over 75,000 international visitors last week. Artwork in all of its forms were displayed at Art Basel this year, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, installations, photographs, and films. Some artwork and performances even incorporated the beautiful nearby beaches and parks.
