Jeff Nelson says what’s hot right now are unlacquered, wax finished hardware and contemporary fireplace units. Unlacquered, wax finished hardware grows character to its look by gaining a fine patina over time. Contemporary fireplaces are popular in many New England homes; they are short vertically with linear shapes and wide openings.
