Seen & Inspired: The Look at the Boston Design Center

We experienced a full day of exciting showroom programs at The Look at the Boston Design Center last Thursday. We love attending this event every year because we get to discover all the new design trends and catch up with the best home designers.

11:00 A.M. – Connie Kolman of Kolman Artisan Glass presents her exquisite glass technique at Moda Cucina.

Kolman Artisan Glass

“You’re only limited by your imagination,” is what Connie Kolman told the crowd of designers. Connie previously was an interior designer before finding her passion and unique talent for artisan glass. She discussed her technique and inspiration for designing handcrafted glassworks.

Her work is truly one of a kind. Handcrafted glass can be designed into spaces where you’d put marble or granite – for example: kitchen backsplashes, desk surrounds, countertops, or any number of creative possibilities that illuminate and transform any space.

12:00 P.M. – Luncheon throughout the 6th Floor Showroom

Dalia Kitchen Design

Dalia Kitchen Design had a huge crowd inside their gorgeous showroom. At 11:00 a.m. they had Chris Peacock of Christopher Peacock Home share his expertise on the latest in luxury interior design.

The firm has three showrooms in the Boston Design Center that exhibits 30 displays in over 10,000 square feet.

Allstone

Just walking into the Allstone showroom we were amazed at the custom stone and tile details. Allstone’s product line features the finest marble, travertine, limestone, porcelain, ceramic, slate, glass tile and mosaic procured for their global network.

LEICHT

The LEICHT showroom is a must-see at the Design Center. Their modern kitchen designs are timeless. One of our Account Manger’s family members had a LEICHT kitchen designed in the 80’s and says that it’s still a timeless, beautiful kitchen.

2:00 P.M. – Staged settings for JANUS et Cie’s Pinterest contest.

As we were walking out, we stopped by JANUS et Cie and saw that they’re running a Pinterest contest. The contest requires you to take a picture of your favorite element in the showroom – winners will be chosen from each of the three categories: seaside contemporary, countryside traditional, and best use of color.

We could have stayed here all day redesigning their showroom for this contest. There were so many colorful home-furnishing accessories that we could mix and match each setting with - the possibilities were endless!
