Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams held a Grand Reopening party of their expanded and renovated Signature Store in Boston on Wednesday.

The internationally acclaimed home furnishing company has had their Boston Signature Store located at 142 Berkley Street in the Back Bay for eight years.

The Signature Store now has more than twice the amount of space, expanding from 4,500 square feet to over 10,000 square feet.

Since opening in 1989, the company has grown significantly with store locations, annual revenue and employment. In another 20 years, Mitchell Gold says they plan to have more stores and an increased international presence.

“The great thing historically is that throughout the world, people love American design and we hit the heart of it,” Mitchell explains.

And he’s right. In the past, modern home designs were rarely seen in the suburbs and often seen only in urban settings. Now in suburban homes, there isn’t always the traditional Henredon sofa. The modern look Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams creates has become more mainstream.

While Mitchell and Bob say they don’t consider themselves trendsetters, they admit they’ve had an impact and influence in the design industry.

“We want customers to be happy. Buying furniture is difficult for a lot of people and we’ve tried to make it as easy as possible,” Mitchell says.

Their newly renovated Boston store is just that. With knowledgeable and friendly staff, customers can find the perfect furniture settings and decorations. The store has beautiful interiors with bright modular lights and personally created furniture settings by Mitchell and Bob.
