The “Red Sox� lamp above was designed and made in the Concord Lamp & Shade store in Concord. Due to its sell-out success, Concord Lamp & Shade has now come out with a second edition of this popular lamp.
The 22� high lamp is made with 3 major league, Rawlings baseballs – each with a Boston Red Sox logo.
The base of the lamp is home plate – constructed using ash – the same wood used in major league bats.
For the lampshade, Concord Lamp & Shade commissioned a painting of a “night game at Fenway Park� between the Red Sox and the Yankees! The features of the lampshade include:
1. The Red Sox are winning 9-0 (the score is captured on the score board in left field)
2. The Yankees have one error (oops!!)
3. Wally the Green Monster is in the stands
4. Pesky Pole is in right field
5. Something looking very much like the “Citgo� sign is above the left field wall
6. The retired Red Sox numbers are in full view in right field
7. The fans in the last row of the stadium are wearing the Red Sox team jerseys from the 2011 team.
An important new detail in this new edition of the lamp, the shade is now a “magic� day game/night game shade. A day game unlit, when the light is turned on, the game turns into a night game – including special lights on the Prudential building!
With every lamp comes a “Stats� card that outlines all of the information provided above.
The lamp by itself sells for $135; the lampshade sells for $105; together the two sell for $216.
