Seen & Inspired: Traveler Collection Launch at Roche Bobois

On September 25, 2014, Boston Design Guide joined Roche Bobois as they celebrated their 40th year of business in the United States with the launch of their Traveler Collection. The Traveler Collection is a collaboration with American designer Stephen Burks. The brand celebrated this milestone by welcoming 150 guests at their beautiful Boston store location at 2 Avery Street. This exciting preview marked the first time the company has introduced a product outside Paris or Milan.

Below, Boston Design Guide Web Editor Jen Harvey and Account Manager Sharon Litchfield try out the new chair with designer Stephen Burks himself.

The Traveler Collection is comprised of a pair of chairs, an American version and a European version. The chairs explore and illustrate the differences between the two cultures - the refined elegance of the French and the modern, more laidback style of the Americans. Below, the European version, with its unique, carriage-inspired metal frame.

Roche Bobois Creative Director Nicolas Roche says, "It was important to work with an American designer during this landmark year - our 40th in the U.S. market. We were magnetically drawn to Stephen's international approach and his ability to acknowledge the contribution of all peoples and synthesize them in a multicultural project."

Attendees of the party enjoyed food provided by Table of Content and beautiful jazz by singer Rebecca Paris.
