The 2016 PRISM Awards by BRAGB celebrates the best projects and outstanding achievements in New England’s home building industry.
BRAGB (Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston) has been hosting the PRISM Awards for several years. The program has been carefully designed to honor and recognize the accomplishments of professionals who influence the present and shape the future of building and design.
Here are a few of this year’s winners!
Morehouse MacDonald & Associates - Best Living Area: Private Residence - Living Room/Dining Room
This Great Island House combines the classic Cape & Islands architecture with a more open and tropical interior. Morehouse MacDonald & Associates used figured sapele and carved soapstone mantels in concert with curved planes and elements to subtly reinforce this theme and enhance views of Nantucket Sound.
Patrick Ahearn Architect – Best Detached Home – 5,000 to 8,000 Square Feet
This traditional shingle style home by Patrick Ahearn Architect is located in Edgartown, MA. The quintessential New England home took home was recognized with 3 PRISM awards! The other 2 awards are for Best Living Area: Private Residence – Bedroom and Best Living Area: Private Residence - Kitchen.
Patrick Ahearn Architect took home several additional PRISM Awards for:
• Best Living Area: Private Residence – Bath
• Best Detached Home – Over 8,000 Square Feet
• Best Historical Renovation
• 2 awards for Best Design for Outdoor Living
Hutker Architects – Best Detached Home – 5,000 to 8,000 Square Feet
Hutker Architects worked with builder Andrew Flake on this waterfront cottage that’s designed with elegant contemporary elements. The almost 6,500 square foot house has panoramic views of the outer harbor complete with public spaces and luxurious private ones.
Hutker Architects also won PRISM Awards for:
• Best Remodeling/Restoration Between $750,000 and $1 Million
• Best Logo of the Year: Builder or Associate
• Best Website: Builder or Associate
• Community Spirit Award: Niantic Park Playground
Polhemus Savery DaSilva Architects Builders – Best Detached Home – 5,000 to 8,000 Square Feet
This project known as Windy Brae is located in Cape Cod. Polhemus Savery DaSilva Architects Builders designed and built a playful yet classically inspired home. Highlights of the home include a gambrel gable end, stair tower, entry pavilion, screened in porch, and stunning views of the ocean.
Polhemus Savery DaSilva Architects Builders took home a second award for Best Living Area: Private Residence – Living Room / Dining Room.
TMS Architects – Best Detached Home – Over 8,000 Square Feet
This breathtaking New England lakefront home is a wooded treated on Lake Winnipesaukee. TMS Architects did the home's architecture and interior design to create a relaxing vacation getaway where the owners and guests could immerse themselves in nature and unwind at the lake.
TMS also won PRISM Awards for:
• Best Kitchen Remodel Over $200,000
• Best Clubhouse: Community
• Best Commercial Project – Profile Coffee Bar
The Lagasse Group – Best Detached Home – Over 8,000 Square Feet
The Lagasse Group won another PRISM Award for Best Ad (Digital or Print): Builder or Associate
Essex Restoration – Best Remodeling/Restoration Between $500,000 and $750,000
Jan Gleysteen Architects – Best Remodeling/Restoration Between $750,000 and $1 Million and Best Historical Renovation
This colonial charm project was also awarded a third PRISM Award for Best Kitchen Remodel between $125,000 and $200,000.

Feinmann, Inc – Best Bathroom Remodel Between $75,000 and $125,000
Feinmann, Inc. transformed a second floor bathroom into a luxurious master bath. Highlights of the space include a generous walk-in shower with frameless glass doors and Silk Blanco tiles, a double vanity sink, plenty of storage, and a toilet alcove anchored at the other end of the master bath.
Brendon Properties – Best Detached Home – Under 2,500 Square Feet
Montage at Danforth Green in Framingham, MA is a new construction condominium community. It’s conveniently located just 2 miles from the Mass Pike in a tucked away neighborhood that’s just minutes away from various amenities and restaurants. There are 23 homes available. Homeowners can choose from 7 different floor plans and 2 distinct home styles. The craftsmanship and detail that Brendon Properties has put into this project has certainly raised the bar in condominium living. Brendon Homes also took home several additional awards for their work at Montage:
• Best Detached Home – Under 1,800 Square Feet
• Best Multi-Unit For-Sale Community: Attached Homes
• Best Print Brochure: Community
• Best Special/Limited Time Marketing Promotion
Dana Shock & Associates – Best Design for Outdoor Living
LDa Architecture & Interiors – Best Website: Builder or Associate

Sea-Dar Construction took home 3 awards for:
• Best Detached Home – Over 8,000 Square Feet
• Best Remodeling/Restoration Over $1 Million – Over 5,000 Square Feet
• Best Commercial Project – All Too Human
FBN Construction - Best Remodeling/Restoration Between $750,000 and $1 Million with Platemark Design
FBN Construction took home several additional PRISM Awards for:
• Best Remodeling/Restoration Between $500,000 and $750,000
• Best Bathroom Remodel Under $75,000 with Vani Sayeed Studios
• Project Manager of the Year: Julie Couture
• Superintendent of the Year: Robert Cuggino
