Let Newport’s stunning landscaping inspire you June 15-17th by enjoying a self-guided walking tour of the city’s most impressive private gardens. The annual Secret Garden Tour invites you to explore these edenic spaces and experience firsthand the reason why Conde Nast Traveler Magazine named Newport “one of the best walking cities in the U.S.” Beginning near the causeway to Goat Island, the Secret Garden tour ambles through more than a dozen stunning gardens within the historic Point District.
These lush outdoor escapes, painstakingly maintained by their owners, are showcased annually to raise funds for the Arts Education programs in the Islands’ public schools. Since 1984, the organizers and supporters of The Secret Garden Tour have been dedicated to enhancing art education and cultural programs in Aquidneck Island Public Schools, funding various programs in music, theater and fine arts for local students. To date, The Secret Garden Tour has given more than $1 million to Aquidneck Island Public Schools towards the promotion of art, music, theater, and other cultural programming.
