Newport, Rhode Island, is known as one of the Northeast’s best walking cities, and its Newport Secret Garden Tour is a seasonal highlight. This annual, self-guided tour September 6th-8th gives garden enthusiasts access to prestigious properties on and off Bellevue Avenue, on Newport’s picturesque Ocean Drive and in the Kay/Catherine neighborhoods.
Tour goers will stroll through as many as nine elegant gardens in some of Newport’s most enchanting homes, which have been opened up to the community to help raise funds for the arts, music, theatre and cultural programs in Rhode Island’s public schools. To date, Newport's Secret Garden Tour has given more than $1 million to the artistic pursuits of Aquidneck Island students.
