Patrick Ahearn Architect was the 2012 Bulfinch Award Recipient for New Residential Construction over 5,000 square feet.
The above project was awarded by the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art.
The house was built as a retirement home for a family. The family wanted to build a gambrel style summer cottage that was simple and open, yet significant enough to accommodate their family and friends year-round.
Patrick Ahearn turned their ideas into a dream home that can be enjoyed for generations. The home is not only beautiful, but it’s functional and compliments the land and surroundings. The home was designed to maximize views over the meadow out to the ocean, while providing privacy from neighbors.
Patrick was involved throughout the construction by supervising work with the builder, sourcing materials and making modifications to ensure every detail was attended to.
The outcome is an outstanding home and pure example of why Patrick Ahearn is a world-class architect.
