The Sudbury Design Group has developed its expertise in both residential and commercial projects throughout New England for almost fifty years. Originally founded in 1959 as Landscape Creations, Inc., the company built its reputation on craftsmanship and construction techniques.
In 1972, Ron Boucher Associates, lnc. was formed to add landscape architectural service for its clients, and to complement the firm's design/build capabilities. Although moderate in size, these two companies worked hand in hand emphasizing the quality of product rather than volume. In 1997, under the leadership of Michael Coutu, the company was reorganized as Sudbury Design Group. Ownership transition was completed and the firm relocated to its present address. Remaining in Sudbury allowed SDG to continue its tradition of community participation and public service.
The staff of Sudbury Design Group, boasting one of the industry's lowest employment turnovers, is comprised of highly skilled, "award winning" landscape architects, architectural designers, graphic designers, urban planners, and engineers. Their team of competent craftsmen includes the area's finest masons and horticulturists.
Their diverse expertise enables Sudbury Design Group to design and implement a wide variety of residential and commercial projects from conception to completion. Whenever possible, SDG advocates a collaborative working relationship with other design professionals. The landscape architect, architect, interior designer, and contractor should work in concert from the project's inception. This relationship fosters the pursuit of a common goal, "the client's best interest". SDG is dedicated to harmonizing architectural elements with the natural environment. Preserving the integrity of the land, while providing maximum functional use and enjoyment for their clients, is their primary goal.

Just as most “wash-ashore” stories go, Matt Tomaiolo’s presence on Nantucket was almost accidental, having first come to the island in 2017 to build just two houses. These two projects quickly led to another, and another, and now the Shrewsbury, Massachusetts native calls Nantucket home, building, remodeling and caretaking a portfolio of homes across the island.
As Owner and President of Tomaiolo Development, Matt takes pride in the relationships he forms with clients, always having their best interest in mind, and believes this perfectionist approach was first born from growing up on the job sites of his homebuilding father years ago. “There’s no such thing as good enough,” Matt says. “It’s got to be done right, and that’s exactly how I run my business today.”

Lighting is an essential, and sometimes challenging part of any home décor. Concord Lamp & Shade specializes in customized lighting – lampshades and lamps – to enhance your interior and exterior décor.
Concord Lamp & Shade has been a premier destination for residential lighting in New England for over 35 years – from floor lamps to wall sconces, chandeliers and pendant lights to table and accent lamps, we will work with you to define the optimal lighting plan for your décor.
In addition, we are the largest retailer of lampshades in the northeast. With an inventory of over 2,000 lampshades, and access to hundreds of styles, fabrics and trims, our trained professionals can help you find, or design, a lampshade for any lamp….from simple “clip on” paper or linen shades, to intricately styled, pleated and trimmed silk lampshades, to custom shades made from maps and charts (track a memorable trip on a shade), or we can use your fabrics (COM). Do you have an antique silk lampshade from your great-grandmother, or another favorite lampshade that is tattered or torn? We can recover or reline it for you.
Drawing from resources around the world, we also offer a wide selection of custom designed table and floor lamps and ceiling fixtures. Choose from our Thai, Chinese, Italian, Central American, Portuguese, French or African ceramics, or find something yourself – a treasured family candlestick or a piece of pottery from a renowned New England potter, and we will turn it into a lamp. Once these ceramics and other objects are transformed into a lamp, we will work with you to find the perfect lampshade – style, size and fabric – and then apply the finishing touch with just the right finial…. You won’t find these lamps anywhere else!
In addition to our own lighting designs, we represent the leading lighting manufacturers in the US, including Chapman Lighting, Visual Comfort, Currey and Company , Wildwood, Arteriors, Waterford, Murray Feiss, Hubbardton Forge, House of Troy, Simon Pearce, Uttermost, Hudson Valley, Northeast Lantern and many others..
An important part of our business is our lamp repair, conversion and restoration services. We rewire and restore table and floor lamps as well as chandeliers and wall sconces. In addition, we can convert any lamp or fixture with wiring from outside of the U.S. to a system compatible with U.S. electrical standards. All of the parts we use are UL listed. All work is done on the premises by our experienced service manager and his staff.
